Alan Collier Edwards and the inspiration for the first Edwards hot water system both originated from the farmlands of the South West of Western Australia. The post war era saw Alan Edwards working the fields of a small farm holding and returning each evening to a humble farm cottage deprived of all conveniences.

After the evening meal he would light his cigarette from the top of the glass chimney of the aladdin table lamp used to light the room as electricity was not available. One evening while lighting his cigarette he casually passed the comment to his wife that he was surprised by the amount of heat which came from the simple kerosene lamp.

From this observation he decided to build a hot water system using the aladdin lamp as the source of heat. Taking a discarded 44 gallon drum he cut a hole in the top and bottom lid to allow an old piece of galvanised iron pipe to be fitted and act as a central flue.

Solar Electric panels generate electricity using the photovoltaic (PV) effect. The solar flat panel are fitted to your roof and convert light into electricity. This electricity is fed through an inverter directly to the house or through a meter directly into the grid.

When you use electricity you are using solar generated power or power from the grid if the solar energy project is insufficient. If you are using little or no electricity, your solar hose is feeding electricity back into the grid and the electric company buys that power from you. In effect, your home becomes a mini power station generating electricity and selling it to the grid for use by you or your neighbours. If you consistently generate more electricity than you use, the electricity company will pay you for the excess.

We produce and deliver in particular the Flat Plate Collector stands, and these both in the stationary and mobile implementations with the automatic Sun tracking movement in the sky and thus turning the flat plate solar collector stands perpendicularly to the direction of the solar radiation all day long.

We also deliver complete photovoltaic solar energy project fitted with photovoltaic panels based on the customer’s request. The TRAXLE tracker is protected with patents being issued in many countries world-wide.

The Solar Tracker is a device capable of turning after the Sun, which means following the Sun’s track from its rising in the east to its setting in the west. The TRAXLE Solar Tracker is a construction consisting of aluminum profiles and of a stainless material. The photovoltaic panels are attached to this construction. Because the Solar Tracker turns after the Sun all day long, the solar flat panel are set to face the Sun directly all day long, and so is their performance substantially enhanced.
Technical Solution

The technical solution of the TRAXLE Solar Tracker is unique, with two patents issued, valid world-wide. The main TRAXLE load-bearing part is either an aluminum or stainless material pipe oriented slantwise on the north/south axis. The arms with photovoltaic panels are attached to the pipe. The pipe has a built-in DC motor which turns the entire assembly by means of the worm gear unit. The motor is powered by a small photovoltaic module attached to the bottom part of the pipe. This module is mounted perpendicularly towards the sun and contains the Photovoltaic cells on both sides. The TRAXLE Solar Tracker turns to that side of the small photovoltaic module being exposed to the Sun.

Hot water heating (on average) accounts for 26% of your annual energy bill.  With a Genersys solar energy project you could generate enough solar energy to heat 70% of your hot water, FREE, year after year!   With a 35+ year life expectancy, the savings are very big and payback can be between 8 and 12 years on a home system.

People ask "What is the pay back?" for solar modules systems. Well, first and foremost it does have a payback. If you buy coal, oil or electricity or gas the supplier does not offer you any pay back at all. No matter how much gas, oil or coal you buy and no matter how long you buy it for, you never get your money back. You have to service, maintain and renew you fuel burning equipment. Similarly the electricity company never offers you a payback

Various government bodies define sometimes payback as the annual fuel bill savings divided by the capital cost.  This is simply inaccurate misleading and wrong.

If you take a proper view of payback, you have to factor in future energy increases, take account of inflation, look at the savings in boiler servicing and the ability to make a boiler last longer any add in the parasitic losses that a Flat Plate Collector system suffers. Doing the sums properly most thermal systems offer a pay back of between 6 and 15 years, depending on the fossil fuel displaced, the future fuel inflation factor you use and the amount of hot water you use.

If the product is built as part of the housing infrastructure it will last for around 30 years with minimal maintenance. If the product is built into a home in the course of construction the pay back period declines rapidly.

Although payback is one way of looking at the cost it is perhaps more accurate to look at the return on your investment that solar thermal offers. Typically the financial savings of a good solar thermal system will be equivalent to a tax free return on investment of between 8% and 12%.
